2019 Shorewood Kiwanis Harper Charity Cruise Charity Partners

What is a Charity Partner?  These organizations are those that Shorewood Kiwanis supports normally.  Each year, on the day of the Cruise, these groups go to work and help cover the huge cruise route area selling T-shirts and taking donations.  They are the first to receive any donations from the Cruise profits - receiving money from each shirt sold and all the donations in their on-site canisters.  We love these partners, and appreciate everything they do for the community, and for helping us by working hard the day of the actual cruise.

Big Family of Michigan

Big Family of Michigan is an organization helping to make life better for children waiting to be adopted. They work with adoption organizations, foster parents, social workers and the children to try to help make sure all are working in harmony and the children are receiving the love, care, and items they need and require to become successful adults. Cultural Committee

The St Clair Shores Cultural Committee is a group of volunteers sanctioned by the city to promote and support access to the arts in their many forms for our residents and others. Our partnership with the Detroit Institute of Arts has been particularly rewarding as they provide bus transportation to the museum and many of the speakers that make up our bi-monthly lectures at the SCS Library. In addition to DIA tours and talks, we arrange children’s programs at the Library encompassing art creation and dance, as well as tours for all ages of places and things important to learning and understanding the diverse culture and history of our Metro Detroit area.

Wigs 4 Kids

Maggie's Wigs 4 Kids of Michigan provides wigs & support services to Michigan children ages 3 through 18 experiencing hair loss as a result of illness & treatment at no charge. Founded in 2003, we are celebrating our 15th Anniversary and have provided over 4,000 wigs and support services to the children of Michigan. We are grateful to partner with the Shorewood Kiwanis as one of its charities of choice for the annual Harper Cruise here in our hometown. If you ever know of a child in need, please call 586-772-6656 as we charge nothing, help everyone and turn no one away.
