Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to "IMPROVING THE WORLD, ONE COMMUNITY, ONE CHILD AT A TIME", Shorewood is a dedicated chapter of this global organization and have been improving our own cmmunities since 1959.
 

Kiwanis was started by Allen S. Browne and Joseph G. Prance in 1915 in Detroit, Michigan and has since grown into a global service and social organization with thousands of clubs throughout the world.

 

Our club seeks to develop a more serviceable citizenship and give primacy to the human values of life as stated in the objects of Kiwanis International

Come to one of our Tuesday Morning meetings. We meet the First and Third Tuesday each month at 7:30 a.m.

Our next BIG event - The Shorewood Kiwanis Special Needs Children's Day at the Ice Show
The Longest running Community Service Event in Shorewood Kiwanis History
For over 47 years we have dropped the bordders of St. Clair Shores and invite Special Needs Children and Adults from all over Southeastern Michigan
Some Groups come from as far away as Port Huron, Capac and beyond. For 2018, we will host 800 special needs attendees, 40 in wheelchairs, to an outing of grreat fun and enjoyment.  Working in conjunction with the St. Clair Shores Figure Skating Club, we provide a captive and awe-inspired audience for their dress rehearal of the Annual Review of Reflections on Ice. Update 4/9/18 - another raging succes: many thanks to all Shorewood Members, and friends, who step up every year to make this event happen, the longest running community service event in the history of our club.  Dr. Carl Papa, President and Committee chair - Youth Services and project manager Karen Biafora are proud and grateful for the efforts of Ernie Buechler, Larry Lozo, Sharon Gwizdowski, Diane DeYonker, Don & Marilyn White, Darlene Katz and Councilwoman Candice Rusie!
